DRV8312-C2-KIT: motor accelerates constantly while using current control loop

Part Number: DRV8312-C2-KIT

Hey,

I am working with the DRV8312-C2-Kit using the "GUI_project_InstaSPIN_BLDC".

When I choose the current control loop in the GUI and then start the motor, it accelerates continuously and is running faster and faster.

I reflashed the project one more time, to make sure I am using the correct software. But it didn't help.

So I am not sure, if this is correct behaviour. I thought it was different a few weeks ago.

Can you help me here?

Thanks in advance,

Sarah

  • That's correct, the motor will accelerate very quickly and run up to the maximum if you set a higher motor current, run in current mode, and there is no load or slight load on the motor. You may change the reference motor current to the right value and add a slight load on the motor. The real acceleration and the running speed depend on motor load and reference current if you are using current control mode.
You may use the speed/velocity control mode if you want to get a target speed as you want.
