Hi,

Customer is doing a power module:

- Input: 88V-264V Vac or Vdc.

- First Stage: boost PFC, output 400V VDC

- 2^nd Stage: half-bridge LLC, output 48V Vdc/20A

- Another requirements: 97% efficiency, parallel connect the power modules(up to 4-5 modules)

They are asking, if we have current balancing support, hardware or software solution.

Hi Jordan,

So based on your description, does one power module includes boost PFC+LLC? And the whole system contains 4~5 power modules(PFC+DCDC) connected in parallel? Are they using 4 or 5 phase interleaved LLC or boost PFC? Is my understanding correct?

Just want to understand the current balancing here. Because we do have current sharing implemented in the TIDM-1001 which is interleaved half bridge LLC converter.

Chen,
One module includes boost PFC and LLC.
In the filed, 4 or 5 modules will be connected in parallel. The current balancing is here.

Hi Jordan,

We only have current sharing implemented in the TIDM-1001 which is interleaved half bridge LLC converter. We don't have any reference design or sample project doing current balance between several modules as you mentioned. However, it is doable to implement it based on our devices.
