CCS/TMS320F28335: Output file changes from build to build is code doesn't change.

Hello,

I would like to know what changes in the out file from one build to another build.

The situation is that I compile the project and *.hex file is generated. I delete the whole Relese folder and recompile the code (without changing the code). The new resulting *.hex file has changed and I would like to know the reason.

I am using CCS8.

I don't know the reason for the change.

Please use the utility objdiff from the cg_xml package to find the difference. Note it does not compare hex files. Use it to compare the .out file created by the linker. Before you delete the Release folder, save off the .out file for later comparison. Once you've seen the comparison, I suspect you will be able to work out the rest on your own. If not, you are welcome to post the output of objdiff here.

Hello and thank you for your response.

I created an empty CCS project based on Minimal TI Target Examples with SYS/BIOS to generate out files.

I used the utility and it says that Files are the same.

Comparing same files with WinMerge can be seen that the binary files are different.

How can this be explained?

Hello,
We found the const that changes with compilation time. When we delete it, .out file changes but .hex file doesn't. That makes sense.
