TMS320F28062: Vdd generated by internal LDO is higher than 1.8V

Part Number: TMS320F28069

Hi Champs,

My customer is using F28069 and internal regulator to generate Vdd. They observed the Vdd on some device is higher than 1.9V which is very close to 1.995V max value. Thus, they worry the Vdd will become higher than max value under some circumstances and they want to know if this is a normal situation. On the datasheet, we only noted the voltage input range when using a external source. What is the normal measured Vdd range when internal regulator is used?

Thanks,

Brian

  • Brian,

The device is guaranteed to work so long as the VDD supply is kept within the datasheet range.  This applies to the internal VREG generated voltage as well; it is my experience that 1.9V is typical for the VREG output.

Additionally TI has tested to ensure this will not violate the DS conditions over the operation of the device; since the customer does not have to generate the voltage there is no reason to specify a range for the internal regulator output.

    Best,

    Matthew
