Hi,

I was trying to write a program to read external voltage through an ADC using launch pad. I'm stuck with the configuration of the pins in which I need to pass the voltage. Should I be using analog/ digital input for it? After choosing it how should I make launch pad understand that it is supposed to read the value from that pin and get me its corresponding adc values? I've read the datasheet and I'm fully confused in how to proceed further. Please help.

Please download C2000ware and have a look at the ADC SW examples:

You might also want to take a look at the C2000 workshops (particularly the analog sections):

And you should also refer to the device TRM (which will explain the specifics of the device HW from a programmer's perspective):

Thanks, it helped.

ADCSOC0CTL->CHSEL->0h ADCIN0

My question is which pin will this be selected in the launch pad? Will it be A0, B0 or C0? How will I get to know about it. I'm guessing all ADC pins are internally wired? From the above workshops, I understood which pins comes where in the launchpad. But how will I be able to change it according to my needs?

Hi Reshma,

In the SW you will either use:

AdcaRegs.ADCSOC0CTL.bit.CHSEL = 1;

AdcbRegs.ADCSOC0CTL.bit.CHSEL = 1;

ADC_setupSOC(ADCA_BASE, ADC_SOC_NUMBER0, ADC_TRIGGER_EPWM1_SOCA,
ADC_CH_ADCIN0, 10);

ADC_setupSOC(ADCB_BASE, ADC_SOC_NUMBER0, ADC_TRIGGER_EPWM1_SOCA,
ADC_CH_ADCIN0, 10);

To address a specific ADC module.
