TMS320F28069M: DFU Bootloader Sample Project executing dfu_prog.exe

Hi,

I want to run the bootloader project. I am using TMS320F28069 controller.

I am using mac machine with windows 10 home version as virtual machine to run the dfu_prog.exe .

When I run the code , Device Manager shows USB connected in DFU mode. Then Irun the dfuprog.exe(which is available on control suite) through command prompt with the option –e to show the list of DFU device connected to PC but dfuprog.exe gives the error says that the DFU device is not connected.

I tried installing the device drivers from this post , but dint help.

. When I try to link the new drivers from the above link windows is not letting me update the driver and shows the following error

Could you please point out where could be the possible error and help me get this project working.

Hi,

This may be due to the driver not being signed.

Can you try disabling signature on your Windows VM? This may help.

Thank you for your suggestion. It helped. But now when enumerating the device I see the following information. Which is not as expected.

Hi ,

I wanted to know if there are any updates. I can see the enumeration of the device on linux machine, but I still do not see any enumeration when I run the command line utility dfu_prog.exe.

Hi,

I do not have any good suggestions at this time.

Can you determine what the error message is?

Are you using a linux machine or windows machine? Which drivers are you using?

Do you have a USB analyzer to help with this?

Hello Sal,

There is no error msg. But I do not see the Device Name, Manufacturer Interface so on. I do not have USB analyzer with me.

I tried to look into the dfuprog vc project and tried to debug it. I see that the function TIDFUDeviceASCIIStringGet in dfu_prog.cpp is returning

DFU_ERR_NOT_FOUND. I think the DFU dll are returning the expected value.

Hi,

It may be working properly.

Have you tried the DFU operation? Are you able to communicate to the device the new firmware?

Hi ,

I have run dfuprog -c to clear the ﬂash of the target device.

C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_2_00_00_02\utilities\tools\f2806x\dfuprog\Release>dfuprog -c

Scanning USB buses for supported DFU devices... Clearing entire writable region of flash.

Error DFU_ERR_UNSUPPORTED (-5) erasing flash!

Can you check if the flash has been actually erased?

Is the operation working?

Hello Sal,

No the flash section is not erased. I looked in the memory browser of the CCS through debugger. Is there any way you suggest me to check the erase flash operation?

You can try the uniflash tool.
