Hello,
customer uses the HALT mode and wakes the MCU every 5s up on a IO pin. Sometimes the MCU doesn't wake up anymore. In this situation the HALT current rises from 400uA to 800uA. Access with the debugger is not possible. Only a reset can wake the MCU.

How frequently does this happen? Is it easily reproducible?

Hello Hareesh,
it happens not often, may be one time in a week.

The TRM mentioned that the wake up input has to be free from glitches. Could this be the problem that the CPU doesn't wake up any more? What is our recommendation to protect this port?

It is possible. Is it possible to instrument the system where a scope is configured to capture the wakeup signal that fails to pull the device out of HALT mode? I will reach out to you offline for some circuit related details.
