Compiler/TMS320F280049C: What is Preferred, Launchpad or Evaluation KIT?

Part Number: TMS320F280049C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSCNCD280049C, LAUNCHXL-F280049C, TMDSHSECDOCK

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

What is Preferred, Launchpad or Evaluation KIT?

I want to check compatibility for specific product. Later it will be embedded with other circuits. Which one is better suitable for Standalone testings of Peripherals like PWM, ADC, QE, CAN and some algorithm on it ?

Can someone mention pros and cons please. Can we use JTAG with Both?

I want ot be sure before buying.

  • Chirag,

    I assume you are referring to: TMDSCNCD280049C and LAUNCHXL-F280049C

    Both show off all of the features that you want. Both come with embedded JTAG emulators.

    LAUNCHXL-F280049C

    • Fully standalone evaluation platform( no other hardware needed)
    • Many Booster Packs available(lots of motor control Booster Packs)

    TMDSCNCD280049C

    • Will need to be plugged into a baseboard.
      • TMDSHSECDOCK is a generic baseboard that breaks out the pins.
      • There are many application specific baseboards

    Take a look at the following link. This shows off many of our most popular C2000-related evaluation kits. You'll see a recommended evaluation module with each kit, often times many other kits are compatible as well.
