TMS320F28374S: The maximum UART baud rate by the SCI peripherals

Part Number: TMS320F28374S

Hello,

Could you please advise the maximum UART baud rate by the SCI peripherals?

I observed 3Mbaud of transmit with the TMDXDOCK28377D and the sample program Example_2837xSSci_FFDLB_int.c (modified), but I could not find the value from its datasheet.

I read the DS chapter 5.12.4, but found no timing information for SCI.

  • hi Hideaki,

The internally generated serial clock is determined by the low-speed peripheral clock LSPCLK and the baud-select registers.

The SCI uses the 16-bit value of the baud-select registers to select one of the 64K different serial clock rates possible for a given LSPCLK

LSPCLK/16 is the maximum baud rate. LSPCLK takes values from 2 - 200Mhz.

Details in 18.12 SCI Baud Rate Calculations of TRM.

    Regards.
