If I am reading the GPIO data using the method as shown in the fig. Can you tell me if the ord will be sampled simultaneously? However, I tried to see it in scope, I generated 4 synchronized PWM and tried to sample them through the GPIO, the result I got had delays say 1/3 of a Microsecond between the sampled waves. But I am not sure if it is sampling all GPIOs simultaneously or sequentially.

DSP F28335 is being used.

Unfortunately I cannot, this depends on how Simulink generates the code. This would question would best be asked on the Mathworks forum.

Hi Deepak,

The reads are sequential and not simultaneous. Also the sample time of the model which decides the execution step time of the code will influence when the GPIO data is read. If we want to read the data values simultaneously, then Memory Copy block can be used to read the GPIO data registers and read & filter the data values of required GPIO. Individual GPIO block will result in sequential reads.

This will certainly be sequentially read, I think the crux of the matter is what order they will be sampled in.

Is there a good way to determine in what order the code will be generated, and consequently what order the GPIOs will be read?

Hi Cody,

When we right click on the block and select properties.. there is an option to specify the 'Priority' for the block. Lesser the number, higher the priority. With this understanding we can specify the priority for the GPIO blocks and they will read data in that order in generated code.
