Can someone explain open drain output mode of TMS320F28377D MCU, what would be the scenario we have to select open drain output mode.
I would recommend doing a web search on the subject since it's a pretty general concept that isn't specific to the C2000, and I suspect you'll be able to find a number of examples. You can also search this forum to maybe see what other people are using it for.
I guess when I think of open drain, the first thing I think of is I2C and how the open drain lines allows several devices to be connected on the same bus. One device on the bus can pull the line low without another interfering and trying to pull it high.

Please also refer the advisory item "Advisory GPIO: Open-Drain Configuration May Drive a Short High Pulse" in device errata document to understand the limitation with open-drain on this device.
