We are starting a new industrial application design with TMS320F28388D processor.

Need the schematics of the reference evaluation board and the PCB board file/gerbers in order to start with the design.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick reply. I need few more information. The product we are designing goes into production in a span of 4 months..

    1. Can we get the ICs available by that time (within 4 months)?

    2. Any additional software are needed for the development other than code composer studio?

    Production version of this device will be available in 2Q 2020 only. Right now we have part for development only.

    2. Any additional software are needed for the development other than code composer studio?

    Along with CCS you may need some addition SW/tools based on your application need. You can find the detail on link below (under "Development Tools") section.

    Hello Vivek,

    Thanks for your suggestions. The availability of the micro controller TMS320F28388D only after 2Q2020 seems to be a show stopper.
    Can we keep using the sample parts (XF28388DZWTS) until 2Q2020 and then switch on to TMS320F28388D?

    Also whether the alternate sample part XF28388DZWTS be purchased in bulk quantities until 2Q2020?

    Yes, you can use this part for development and then switch to TMS320F28388D.

    Also whether the alternate sample part XF28388DZWTS be purchased in bulk quantities until 2Q2020?

    Since it is only for development and not recommended for production, I am not sure how much quantity one can order in bulk. We have our marketing team looped into this post so they will assist you with that.

    What is bulk quantities? How many before May/June 2020 would you need to purchase?

    This is very typical for semiconductors to release pre-production sample units while the product is undergoing final device check-out, potential revision, and quality testing, which often takes 6-12 months.
