CCS/BOOSTXL-BUCKCONV: LAUNCHPAD-F28239D

Part Number: BOOSTXL-BUCKCONV
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-F28379D, LAUNCHXL-F28069M, LAUNCHXL-F280049C

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

We are new users of the platforms Texas Instruments. We acquired the TMS320F28379D and the BOOSTXL-CONV platforms. Question:
1.-Do you have some practical guides or steps to follow to work the platforms together?
We note that there is a example in c:/ti/controlSUITE/PowerSUITE/v_1_01_00_00/BOOSTXL_BUCKCONV/Buck_VMC_F28069M. Question:
2.-It will be sufficient to modify the main.c program? so that BOOSTXL-CONV works with the lauch Pad TMS230F28739D.
Thank you for the support.

  • Javier,

I assume that you have purchased the LAUNCHXL-F28379D EVM.  The easiest path for getting starting with BUCKCONV today would be to purchase a LAUNCHXL-F28069M that should run immediately with the published example.  There is an example for LAUNCHXL-F28377S, but this board was discontinued.

The F28379D is a code-compatible superset version of F28377S so it is possible to modify the LAUNCHXL-F28377S example to work with LAUNCHXL-F28379D.  However, this will require some device knowledge and effort because of hardware differences between the boards, and the example was not written in a modular way to support easy porting between platforms.

There is a project underway to release a BUCKCONV example using LAUNCHXL-F280049C with improved programming practices to facilitate easier porting, but this is not expected to be available until the end of the year.

It is correct we bought LAUNCHXL-F28379D.

We will work with the BUCK_CONV example for the LAUNCHXL-F28377S.

I appreciate your attention to our doubts.
