LAUNCHXL-F280049C: Launchpad for Instaspin

Hello Ti,

I am writing, because I want to use Instaspin-FOC with my own hardware. In the past I used the F28069m with the DRV8301-H2-Kit, but then I saw that the new Launchpad F280049c is also capable of Instaspin.

I’ve checked out the Instaspin Solution for the F280049c and it looks a bit different from the Instaspin used for the F28049m.

What are the main differences?

On a different note, which MCU should I use: the 049c or the 069m? Are there any advantages or disadvantages regarding one or the other?

There is only F280049C which supports instaSPIN-FOC, no F280049M device. F28069M can support both instaSPIN-FOC and instaSPIN-motion.

You can use either F280049C and F28069M if you only need to implement instaSPIN-FOC, otherwise, you have to use F28069M if you need instaSPIN-motion.

F280049C enabled instaSPIN-FOC is based on float point which has better resolution than F28069M. You can find a more detailed description of the motor control SDK based instaSPIN-FOC on F280049C as the following link.

I will try the F280049c then.

Also, I noticed there is no hall sensor startup lab. Is it possible to take the lab11e (from F28069m) and combine it with any lab of the F280049c?

If yes which lab would be more suitable and do you have some advice to realize that?

Right, not all labs are migrated to F280049C. You may try lab07 or lab08.
