TMS320F28335: Cannot connect with Blackhawk USB560v2 System Trace

Hello Champs,

Customer has been using "Blackhawk USB560v2 System Trace" to connect with their F28335 board for several years.

Previously it worked fine, but during recent several months, several these emulators have met with connection issues and they cannot be connected with F28335 board even after customer tried many times.

If click "test" in "Target Configuration", it will always display as attached picture:

If launch debug session, it will always display as:

Let me loop in the CCS folks to see if they are aware of anything recently.

What version of Code Composer is the customer using? Was this updated recently?

Thank you for your reply.

Customer is using CCSv6.1.0.

I have also helped them test the emulators using the latest CCSv9.1 but they still cannot work.

The first screenshot indicates the host PC is unable to communicate with the Debug Probe.

Can you run the Bh560v2Config Utility and copy the output to this thread? In order to run it, you need to close CCS (preferrably reboot the host so no instances of the locked up Test Connection routine are still running).

There is a chance the debug probe is locked in Safe Mode, given it is acknowledged by the OS but it is not operational.

When you open this utility and click on the Help button, it takes you to a page where the User's Guide is located (along with firmware, etc.)

In this document there are several procedures to test the debug probe and even clear the Safe Mode status. Please give this a try.

This utility is installed together with CCS - if you selected the support for Blackwawk Debug Probes when installing CCS.

Its icon is displayed as:

You can re-run the CCS installer to add features check section 4.7 of:

http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/users_guide/ccs_updates.html
