TMS320F28069: Does TMS320F28069 have a DAC output pin?

Part Number: TMS320F28069
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F280049C, TMS320F28379D, LAUNCHXL-F28379D, C2000WARE

Does TMS320F28069 have a DAC output pin?

If not then does any of the C2000 series microcontroller have DAC output pin to view analog output.

Requirement:

frequency(Mhz) : above 70

With evaluation board

  • Jeet,

TMS320F28069 has on-chip comparators with built-in DACs. These can only be used for comparison of an analog in signal and cannot be brought out to a pin.

On this device many customers will implement a PWM DAC which requires a few external components.

If you require a micro controller running above 70MHz and having a true DAC, you could look at TMS320F280049C. This is the lowest cost device that meets the two requirements you provided.

  • TMS320F280049C is a good option.

I would like to ask regarding

    TMS320F28379D launchpad

They TMS320F28379D datasheet says the MCU has 3 buffered DAC output but the launchpad has 4 different outputs and in few forums people have mentioned that the Launchpad can only have 2 different DAC outputs. So i am in a bit confusion state.

If i use TMS320F28379D launchpad, how many different DAC output can i use at a time?

  • Jeet,

I have again marked my initial post as resolving this issue because it answers the question in the post's title, this is only to help others find the correct answer quickly in the future. We can continue discussing your additional related question here.

The TMS320F28379D datasheet is the datasheet that describes all of the functions of the main device. LaunchXL-F28379D is an EVM which gives the user access to some, but not all, of the features of TMS320F28379D.

FYI you can find the full schematic inside of C2000Ware here: C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_2_00_00_02\boards\LaunchPads\LAUNCHXL_F28379D\R2.0

It looks like this EVM has been setup to have 4 PWM DACs in addition to DACA and DACB which have been made available through the LaunchPad headers. DACC was not brought out to a pin.
