Control Suite

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Hello:

Recently, installed the Control Suite package on a Windows 7 Professional based computer and had difficulty with its operation due to 64 bit compatibility.  Received a patch from CrossHairs.  Installed patch and the problem was corrected.  Installed an update a short time later and began to experience problems with the opening of the Control Suite application.

I tried to remove the installation of Control Suite but was unable to do it from my "Programs and Features" section in my computer's Control Panel.  The application was not shown.  The application does not seem to have it's own uninstall feature.

I have done a reinstall over the existing Control Suite application without correcting the problem.

It has been suggested to me by TI support to perform a clean install of the Control Suite Application. Without access to an uninstall dialog wizard for the Control Suite application, how can I be sure that I remove all the features of the application especially registry items if I just delete the appication's directory on my computer?

I would greatly appreciate any and all assistance in addressing this matter.

Thank you in advance.

  •  I don't believe it creates any registry items. controlSUITE simply installs a set of directories in c:\TI\controlSUITE and installs the GUI.exe in the same folder (and on you desktop).

To do a "clean install" you can delete TI\controlSUITE, the link from the desktop, and then download and re-install from www.ti.com/controlsuite

We have had several complaints about Windows 7 installs. We're hoping CrossHairs implements a patch for all.

  • Dear TI-Team,

I just can add some more comments on Control Suite install (Win7, 64bit) , because it seems the installation problems get worse.

I wanted to update to revision V 2.0.1. The process ignored the proposed install path (D:\_TI\controlSuite) and placed the downloaded data to a newly created directory on a different drive (C:). After some retries I finally removed the old controlSuite data completely, restarted the PC and did a new install from scratch. Now I do not get all the selected features. Actually the install process does not provide me with an functional data base.

Fortunately I have a backup copy of the previous data set and able to pick the data I want manually. Installation based on WinXP works fine.

I appreciate any advice to circumvent this problem.

    Best regards   Roland
