CCS/TMS320F28027F: DECIDING THE PWM FREQUENCY,DUTY CYCLE AND TIMER VALUES

Part Number: TMS320F28027F

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

HEY ALL,

I AM TRYING TO GENERATE  A SINE WAVE USING A LOOK UP TABLE ,SO CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP TO UNDERSTAND OR FINA A RELATED DOCUMENT ON HOW TO SELECT A PARTICULAR PWM FREQUENCY AND SET ACCORDINGLY THE DUTY CYCLE AND THE TIMER VALUE FOR INTERRUPT  (FOR GENERATING A 50 HZ SINE WAVE).

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

  • Rahul,

I do not have a good example of how to do this. I would recommend that you think through the problem while using google and e2e's catalog of answered posts as a reference to guide you through the implementation of this system.

There are many system factors that go in to selecting a PWM frequency, whoever the system designer is will need to choose this. The duty can be controlled by adjusting the CMPx values in the Action Qualifier sub-module.

It is unclear what you mean by "AND THE TIMER VALUE FOR INTERRUPT", the PWM has a built in interrupt that can be triggered off of a number of events. If you are just looking for an interrupt with known time delay you could also use a CPU Timer.

    Best of luck,
    Cody
