TMS320F28054M:TMS320F28054 similar chip recommendation

Part Number: TMS320F28054M

The chip I chose now is TMS320F28054MPNT, but this chip is a dual-motor-driven chip. The size is slightly larger. Is there a chip that is flat in performance and has less pins and smaller packages? External CAN, internal integrated operational amplifiers and internal integrated algorithms are required.

  • In the F2805x class there is no package smaller than the 80-pin LQFP (PN) package.  You could look at the F28004x class of devices to see if there is one which meets your needs.

These have integrated analog, CAN, etc, and are available in 64-pin PM and 56-pin VQFN packages, both of which are smaller than the PN.  You'll have a faster device with floating point support too.

The devices are obviously not pin-to-compatible, and smaller package generally means less flexibility with pin allocation, so check the peripherals and pin-out carefully to ensure your needs are met.

  • InstaSPIN-MOTION is only available in your F2805xM and the same + larger F2806xM devices.

The smaller F28027F only supports InstaSPIN-FOC and doesn't include CAN or OPA.
