Hello,

I am working on Launchpad TMS320F28027. I want to use External 20MHz crystal with this launchpad.

If any one knows how to set the external crystal with this board then please suggest me how to do ?

Hi Sourabh,

Are you asking from a Hardware or Software perspective?

HW wise, you'll need to populate Q1/Q2 with a surface mount or through-hole crystal along with corresponding load cap values C3/C4.

SW wise, I suggest looking at one of the examples in C2000ware. See the InitSysCtrl() function and furthermore the below function within it:

    //
    // Select Internal Oscillator 1 as Clock Source (default), and turn off all
    // unused clocks to conserve power.
    //
    IntOsc1Sel();

You'll need to change some of the bit values set within this.

Hi Sourabh,

OK sounds good. Digging into the IntOsc1Sel() function and register bit settings should get you where you need to be.

You can reference the register bit descriptions in the Clocking section (1.3) of the Technical Reference Manual:

I solved my issue by using XtalOscSel(); in InitSysCtrl(); insted of IntOsc1Sel(); .

But now i am facing some another issue is delay function is not working well can you suggest me any thing in that.

Hi Sourabh,

That's right, forgot there was a specific XTAL function. Good, glad to hear.

Are you talking about the US_Delay() function, or something else? Can you describe what you're seeing when it isn't working well?
