CCS/TMS320F28027: EPWM generation for two duty cycles

Part Number: TMS320F28027

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I want to create three EPWMs corresponding to two duty cycles, D1 and D2; the third duty is 1-D1-D2. All of them must be synchronized. The figure below shows how I am implementing it currently. A rising edge delay is also provided for each EPWM to implement dead time between the signals.

Question: is this is the best way to implement it? In future, I also plan to incorporate HRPWM into the scheme. Would that create a problem?

  • If you did not need HRPWM then you could optimize this scheme by using both the ePWM1A and the ePWM1B channel.

Since you need HRPWM, and your signals are not complementary, you must use a PWMxA channel for each of your signals.

There are always some difficulties in implementation, but I think your system should work!

    Regards,
    Cody
