TMS320LF2401A: Flash tools update during programming, "alert me" needed

Part Number: TMS320LF2401A

Hi,

Flash tools update during programming, "alert me" needed

These days, we faced several C2000 Flash tools update, ether in CCS or in bootload, especially LF2401A.

Is there any message for us, to inform us immediately, to support customer's mass production?

Thanks a lot.

Br, Jordan

  • In details, customer faced LF2401A SCI Flash programming issue.

Serial Port Flash Programming Utilities are used.

There are two versions, the different files are: clr24_x1.hex, era24_x1.hex, krnl24xx and prg24_x1.

In one version, these files come from NOK_2401A.7zOK_2401A.7zY2002, and the other from Y2017.

The files from Y2002 work well, but Y2017 don't.

With the Y2017 files, for one chip LF2401A, sometimes it can be programmed through SCI, somethings no.

With the Y2012 files, it always can be programmed.

    Thanks a lot.

  • Jordan,

You are aware the LF2401A device is fairly old and no recent updates were made to the flash programming algos that I am aware of.

I used “Beyond Compare” utility to check the four hex files in the \targets directory. The prg24_x1.hex file exactly identical in the 2 zip files you sent. The clr24_x1.hex file differs by one location. era24_x1.hex & prg24_x1.hex files have too many locations that are different. You can verify this easily yourself by using BeyondCompare (or a similar utility).

Please explain why there are two versions of the utilities and where they were downloaded from.
