TMS320F2812: RAM , .bss and .ebss concerns

Hi,

.bss  is used for global and static variabled in case of EABI format while .ebss is used for storing global and static variable in case of COFF format. I think the binary format for your application is COFF and hence only .ebss is getting used. Both L1SARAM and H0SARAM can be assigned to single .ebss section as shown below to resolve the out of memory error.

   .ebss            : >> L1SARAM | H0SARAM

Can you check if both L1SARAM and H0SARAM are in same memory section i.e. page 0 or page1?

Can you share the linker cmd file with us to check?

The error is due to required size(0x2178) being more than the individual sizes of H0SARAM(0x1000) and L1SARAM(0x2000). You need to use >> inplace of > symbol during allocation like shown below. 

   .ebss            : >> L1SARAM | H0SARAM

The error is due to the fact that ebss section is not split. One soultion could to be to merge the two memory sections to form single section but since the memories available in this case are not adjacent, this will also not work.

Which compiler version is being used here? Can you check if --gen_data_subsection option is available for the project?

Other approach could be to split the uninitialized global data related code into two files so that it can be split.
