Hi expert,

Could you let me know if we have any documents comparing prons and cons between old fixed point device and float point device? One team here used to use our fixed point devices and would like to switch to float point ones. They have some concern here.

I'd start with the opening chapter of the FPU user's guide, which contains a summary of the differences :

If the original fixed-point code development was done using the IQmath library, it will be very simple to port to a floating-point device. Refer to section 3.11 in the IQmath user's guide if this is the case.
