TMS320F28388D: boot options

Hi,

is it possible boot program to all three flash memories of cores using program of CM located in one(or two) flash sectors? Is there any direct way how to do it? Separate approach of booting program is not too much practical. Can I use flash library, choose one of three cores and load data to appropriate address? Best option is use CM and its ethernet as data source.

Hi Krystof,

Initial boot on Reset can only be through CPU1, with boot options specified in the TRM. Also, are you looking to update the code as a firmware update or initial programming?

Can you please add more details on what are you trying to achieve?

Hi Nirav,

on one core processor app have bootloader in one memmory sector which can update firmware over for example UART and i need the same but for all three core. The best will be if there will be one boot code on CM which boot firmware to all 3 cores over ethernet (ethernet is requirement), second option but less comfortable that there will be code for boot firmware on all three cores but boot firmware will run over ethernet. Later, only production code will be updated not boot code, boot code should be static.

Hi,

yes, I add more detail in previous post and I need information about it. Updating firmware possibility over ethernet is key think for decision if use this microcontroller.

Hi Krystof,

Option 1 is not possible, but you can use second option where you can have boot code in all three CPU flash banks, which can do the firmware update.
