hi all,
i have design a system using TMS320F28044 processor and
power supply using LM317.
i am using two 317 ic's for 3.3v and 1.8v,
first ic regulate 3.3v from 5v while second ic regulate 1.8v from 3.3v.
initially i found that ic for 3.3v is slightly heating , and ic for 1.8 v is less than ic1.
actually output of ic1 is 3.267v and ic2 is 1.679v that is on std multimeter.
after 2 hrs suddenly "Power Loss Detected on Target CPU" message got in ccs3.3v
i found that 1.8v is drops down 0.271v, immediately i check continuity between vcc and gnd
that vddcore and gnd is fully short-circuited in chip.
while vddio and gnd is ok (not short circuited).
i am unable to understand the problem why chip core supply pins showing shorted.
is anybody found problem of such type.
experts please tell me what may be happens here.
