TMS320F28075: Using the internal 1.2V regulator

Part Number: TMS320F28075
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Hello,

My customer would like to copy the schematic of the TMDSCNCD28075. Do you have any concerns?

The schematic is,   C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_2_00_00_03\boards\controlCARDs\TMDSCNCD28075\R1_1\F2807x_120controlCARD_R1_1_SCH_05Aug2014.pdf

My point would be, is the “VDD_MCU_1V2” external circuit in the schematic proven by many users ?

It is not F2837x, so I would expect the 1.2V regulator is good, and cloning the schematic is a best practice.

  • Hideaki,

Yes, the 1.2V regulator circuit is good and you can reuse it for your design. The same goes for the rest of the board with one exception:

“The circuitry used to drive the C2000 MCU’s voltage references on the controlCARD is not ideal. Instead, we recommend that users use the voltage reference driving circuitry found in F2837xD_VREFHI_12bitDrivingCkt.pdf which can be found in the same directory as this document. The circuit shown there is for the F2837x device, but a similar approach can be done for the F2807x.“

This notice was taken from the TMDSCNCD28075_Infosheet_v1_2.pdf document located in the F28075 folder

    Regards,
    Peter
