TMS320F28377D: How to reduce EMI coming from SDRAM interface

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

Doing EMI certification we found an issue with the TMS320F28377D circuit, specifically with the SDRAM interface.

Do you have a resource that could help us reduce emissions radiated from that circuit? The SDRAM is MT48LC16M16A2P-7E

  • I do not have any specific advice for an SDRAM. typical things like reducing round loops and adding in EMI filters/ decoupling caps should help.

  • Lauren,

As Cody indicated, good layout practices are usually enough to mitigate emissions.

It may be possible to narrow down the source of the emissions through some experiments:

    • Do the emission frequencies shift when varying the C28x SYSCLK frequency?
    • Are the emission magnitudes different between EMIF writes vs EMIF reads?
    • Is overshoot/undershoot observable at the EMIF and SDRAM pins?
