TMS320F28075: How to access UART Debug PORT

Part Number: TMS320F28075
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Hi

In one of our design we are using TMS320F28075PZP and In that we needs to access debug UART , Is any UART debug port is available ? If available means Please Confirm the Pins

Thanks
Prabhu

  • Prabhu,

There is nothing special about a debug port.  You could use any of the three SCI ports as a UART to connect to your PC.  You'll need a RS232 transceiver, and also configure the appropriate GPIO mux register to get the SCI signals on the desired pins.

    Thanks for your reply

Is the GPIO mux need to configure as SCI alone Or needs to configure as debug UART?

And Ia there any commands to get the logs ?

If any document there regarding this means please share.

    Thanks,
    Prabhu

The SCI is a UART.  Just configure as 8 data, 1 stop, no parity, and you can connect to the PC (with an RS232 transceiver).

There are no logs.  You need to write a program that receives the data and does whatever you want with it.  The SCI is just the serial port.  Handling that serial port needs to be done with the CPU.

There are SCI examples in C2000Ware.  For example, here:

    C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_2_00_00_03\driverlib\f2807x\examples\cpu1\sci

    Hope this helps.
