TMS320F280049: PGA bandwidth

Part Number: TMS320F280049

Hello,

the datasheet says that the internal PGA has a typ bandwidth of 7MHz at any applied gain.
Normally the bandwidth drops with increased gain. Eg, the required gain is 20 which means an external OPAMP with 50MHz will lead to a rough 2.5MHz bandwidth. What is the AC gain behavior the PGA? Can you send me some test data?

Regards, Holger

  • Hi Holger,

If you are thinking of the Gain Bandwidth Product (GBP), keep in mind that GBP is an open-loop specification. The PGA cannot be used in an open-loop configuration and the gain options are predefined hence a GBP specification wouldn't really make sense.

The datasheet specification is technically the 3dB bandwidth for the highest gain which is 24x. The lower gain options would have at least this much bandwidth than but we don't specify them independently. Let us know if it's not clear.
