Are there any potential fault modes where the RESET pin can get locked in a high state (at boot or otherwise)?

Please clarify “locked”. Are you not able to drive the –XRS pin low either internally or externally? What happens if you let the WD counter overflow?

by "locked" I mean that the RESET pin cannot be driven low internally, even if the WD counter overflows. This may be due to some type of hardware failure, for instance.
