TMS320F280049C: Mapping pga outputs to ADC Channel inputs

Part Number: TMS320F280049C

Hi

I am trying to map a output from one of the internal PGA in the f280049c device to one of its internal adc channels.

e.g get output of pga5 to be red by SOC1 adc channel 5

I cannot find registers that map one to the other.

Is this a hard mapping or configurable?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Phil

  • Hi Phil,

The internal PGA output is always hard mapped to an ADC channel.  PGA 5 output is always connected to channel 14 of ADC module A.  There are no registers that need to be configured to enable this connection.

The "Analog Pins and Internal Connections" table in the Analog Peripherals section of the datasheet would be a good reference to look at.

Let me know if you have any other questions regarding this topic.

    Best regards,

    Joseph

  • Thank you Joseph

Its good to know that thay are hard coded however I am struggling to find this table in the data sheet. I have downloaded the tms320f280049c.pdf datasheet from the ti website and cannot find this table in it.

Any chance you could point me to the correct pdf on ti website so I can take a look.

    Thanks in advance

    Phil

  • Hi Phil,

No worries.  The table is under section 5 (Specifications).  Go to subsection 5.10 (Analog Peripherals).  Scroll down about 5 pages and you should find Table 5-39 (Analog Pins and Internal connections).  All the analog connections and muxes are all contained in this section (also including the temperature sensor, comparator subsystem, DAC and analog IOs).  You were probably looking at the ADC and PGA section, hence you missed it.  Hope you'll find all the internal connection information you are looking for.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Regards,

    Joseph
