Part Number: SM320F28335-EP

On chip ADC converter specifications (p 146, section 6.15 of SPRS581D) show gain and offset errors of +/- 30LSB's and +/- 15LSB's respectively.  Assuming that internal reference is selected and factory calibration routine outlined in note 3 is performed at boot, do the above mentioned tolerances: 1). include temperature effects (shown in datasheet as 50ppm/C) and 2). do they include the channel to channel errors of +/-4LSB's listed in same table?  To ask another way, to calculate total gain and offset errors do I have to add the temperature effects and channel to channel errors to the +/- 30LSB's and +/- 15LSB's gain and offset erorrs?

Thank you

  • Pawel,

The GAIN and OFFSET errors apply to the entire range of supported operating conditions for the device.  The temperature coefficient does not add to the error and is only meant to provide some idea of how the readings may drift.  Note 6 tries to clarify these points.

The way to interpret the Channel-to-Channel Variation is that each channel is expected to meet the GAIN and OFFSET parameters, but there may be some Variation (disagreement) in conversion results between ADC channels.
