CCS/UNIFLASH: TMS320F280049

Part Number: UNIFLASH

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I used UNIFLASH 5.2 to generate a Standalone Command Line Package.

I set the z1-passwordlock in the code and same to the configration in the generated.ufsettings file

Then, extract the package and run the dslite.bat.

the program is download sussess but during verifying, an error ourrs, shown below.

the chip works well after powering up again.
so why is there an error during  verifying?

  • Hi,

The error image did not come through.

Could you share the error details again?

    Thanks and regards,

    Vamsi

  • the error is as follows

  • Hi,

It might be that the tool needs to know the passwords to unlock the device before verification.

Let me loop in our tool expert.

    Thanks and regards,
    Vamsi

  • Hi,

Thanks for sending the screenshot. Can you check the details mentioned in the e2e thread below and see if they are applicable to your scenario?

Despite the bug reported by Ricky is fixed by now (the thread is from 2017), you may also want to experiment with the option he mentioned.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael

  • Hi,

Very thanks. the answer solved my issue.(i cope the link here: https://e2e.ti.com/support/tools/ccs/f/81/p/592733/2179426#2179426 )

I quote the relative part "Looks like 0x78020 is OTP memory on the F28075. Looking at the GEL file, it looks like it should be readable on the data memory page, but not the program memory page. This is probably why are you getting the verification read error. ''

So the reason is it can not be read when DCSM_OTP is assigneda to Page 0  of CMD file.

then I move the DCSM_OTP to Page 1, and the program is download and verifying successfully.

Now ohter 2 issue occurs that:

    1)  Dose DCSM_OTP can be assigneda to Page 1  in  CMD file,(see below)?

    2) Other 5 warnings occurs, (see below) and what are the effects of these warings. All program is saved in bank0 in my project.

  • Hi,

The F280049 Technical Reference Manual says the following:

Therefore this shoudn't be a problem. However, the error message shows completely different addresses for these sections, which I am unsure where they are coming from. I would inspect the linker map file (a file with extension .map located in the project output directory) to be sure if the various pieces of your application are falling in valid memory regions.

In the meantime, I will notify the device experts, as they will be able to provide additional insights about this.

    Regards,

    Rafael

  • Agree with Rafael, please take a look at your .map file to see if there is indeed data allocated to these spaces.  The warning is correct, in terms of this memory address range does not exist on the device.  Not only are the absolute addresses wrong, but the delta between sections doesn't match either so I'm not sure what file is giving this information to the tool.

    Best,

    Matthew
