TMS320F28379D: Problem with the Boost Converter closed loop opertion

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Actuallu Boost converter is designed for max. Vo=40V and input is 12V. Switching frequency is 20kHz. I run matlab simulink with same paratemetrs in discrete step with 100Mhz and PWM with 20kHz. With same PI controller values i am trying to keep in Embedded coder and run the Processor. But my MOSFET is giving tic tic sound and i am unable to check oupput. So my question is isthere anything wrong with the way i have connected embedded coder blocks and can anyone help me out whether we can check the hexadecimal values or decimal values like in CCS windows at any point with scope or in anyother way so that we can know what the program is giving the values

Hi,

I am not sure your issue originated related to S/W or H/W.

Have you checked ePWM oputput signals and switching operations?

If it is not H/W issue, please let me know and I will forward this question to the right person.

Did you try using External Mode from Simulink and Embedded Coder? This allows for online parameter tuning and logging.

Also, when you generate code you can also generate a CCS project file. Then you can import that into CCS, and use CCS tools for debugging.

Hello John,

It should not be a hardware problem because i checked it in open loop system by providing 20 kHz frequency and i am getting proper output. So the problem is with software (Embedded coder).

Hello sir,

I tried to implement the serial external mode on TI 379D and these are my settings. But after clicking run button, i am getting this error.

Error occurred while executing External Mode MEX-file 'ext_comm':
Failed to connect to the target. A time-out occurred while waiting for the connection response from the target. Possible reasons for the time-out:
a) The target is not switched on.
b) The target is not connected to your host machine.
c) The application for the model is not running on the target. You might have clicked the Stop button. If the Run button is not dimmed, click it. Otherwise, click the Build button, which downloads and runs your application on the target.

Can you please rectify my mistake
