TMS320F28335: Issue Programming TMS320F28335 on Custom Board using XDS200

Part Number: TMS320F28335
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hello,

I am having an issue programming the TMS320F28335 on some custom boards. I am using the XDS200 by Spectrum Digital and Uniflash to program the boards. I recently went through a bring-up plan on 50 of these boards and was able to program 40/50, but the last 10 will not program. It seems to be intermittent. When I load the image from Uniflash, it typically gets stuck in a random sector that it is trying to erase before loading the image on to the micro. However, if it gets passed the "erasing sector" portion of the programming, it will load the image just fine.

I have checked to make sure that my drivers for my programmer are up to date as well as the Uniflash version, and everything seems to be fine. I also followed the datasheets recommendation for the pull-down on TRST for the TMS part (which is 2.2kΩ). It does say to confirm the drive strength of the XDS, but I wasn't able to find anything on that controller other than a very basic install guide ( http://support.spectrumdigital.com/ccs53/xds2xx/files/xds200_quickstart_guide.pdf ).

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Luke
