Hi there,

Are there any other tools that TI has in addition to the serial flash programmer to update firmware serially on the TMS320? What are some other routes I could go in order to accomplish this outside of using the serial flash programmer from c2000 utilities?

Michael,

Apart from Serial Flash programmer, TI supports JTAG based CCS Flash programmer and UniFlash (standalone without debugger).

Also, there is a USB Flash programmer app note: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/spraco7/spraco7.pdf

There are other Flash programming solution vendors for TI parts - Checkout Codeskin as an example https://www.codeskin.com/programmer .
