Using the high voltage kit of instaspin I want to drive mymotor. İ have an absolute encoder with SPI interface. İt has 22 bit resolution and max baud rate ise 400 kbaud. Pwm frequency is 10 kHz and then it is obvious that it is not possible to get 22bit position Info at every pwm cycle due to the limitation of baudrate. Then it seems useless to select this amount of resolution for the encoder.
What do you advise me to benefit from this amount of encoder resolution? İ think i can use the angle output of the sensorless observer and only correct the angle according to the angle Info of encoder when the data transmission is completed. Does it seem reasonable? Or do you have any other recommendation?
Hi,
400 kbaud seems low speed for the encoder interface. Do you have option to choose different absolute encoder with higher baud?
If not, what you suggested below, using sensor less observer, could work as well.
There are other higher speed interface encoders (EnDat/BiSS-C, Tamagawa etc.) but they can't work on SPI interface.
