TMS320F28388S: Functional Safety Compliant

Hi All,

My motor control customer is designing a new controller for BLDC applications.

They were firstly interested at F2837x series, but now better to switch to the next family 2838x. 

In particular I would like to know if they will be safety compliant like the 2837x or not both for Automotive and Industrial certifications for functional safety.

Can you please give me some update on this matter? If not whichd evice customer should look at?

    Hi Antonio,

     

    The F2838x family is targeting to support the same level of safety  as the F2837x family meaning ASIL-D/SIL-3 for systematic capability and ASIL-B/ SIL-2 for diagnostic coverage.

     

    Safety collateral enabling designers to achieve their safety goal on the F2838x are targeted to be available by end of 1Q21.
