TMS320F28377D: How to deal with analog and digital ground in 4-layer PCB?

Hi team,

I am writting to ask what is the recommended way to design digital and analog ground in a 4-layer C2000 based control board?

What my customer doing is separate Analog and digital ground into 2 different layers, but not completely. Unavoidable mix up still exists. I would like to know is it acceptable from your point of view?

Brian,

There exist many schools of thought regarding distribution of Analog and Digital grounds. For a 4-layer boards, you probably do not have enough layers to have separate grounds, therefore it would be acceptable to combine the grounds on a single layer.
