Not sure, it's this motor and they don't really say much about the encoder. Not sure it even has an IC

Dear Chris,
I'm sure that they will have some rotary shaft incremental encoder IC for getting A,B and index pulses to microcontroller. I would like to know what is the IC made. Whether it's supplied by TI or it belongs to Estun automation, the company which the motor belongs to.

Yes, there are chips which take hall sensor outputs from motor sensors ( mainly sine/cosine waveform) and converts them to quardatic pulses and also genetares index ... I am sure Google will provide a list of these chips ... in this case the motor manufacturer provides the encoder information and didn't feel necessary to provide the internal signal conditioning information. I guess one can take apart the motor to find the information .... well I did a quick Google and one of the hits was http://www.electric-web.org/rotary_encoder.htm ...
