Dear all,

I am lookign for a way to integrate the F28379D controlCARD into a model I am building but I can't seem to find a source for this.

I tried importing the .pcb file on C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_2_01_00_00\boards\controlCARDs\TMDSCNCD28379D to Altium, but it's not working.

    Miguel,

    FYI we don't recommend that a controlCARD be used in any end system, these are intended for prototyping. It is the responsibility of the system designer to verify the hardware.

    This controlCARD was not designed in Altium, so I wouldn't expect it to just open. This was designed in Mentor PADS. You maybe able to import it though. We do not offer these design files in an Altium format.

    Yes thank you very much for your comment. This is indeed for prototyping at the moment.

    I was indeed trying to import it to Altium but didn't work.

    Would you then have a suggestion on how to get a hold of a 3D model of this controlCARD?

    Miguel,

    do you need a 3D model(.step) or would dimensions of this controlCARD be good enough for your needs?

    If you are concerned with the shape of the edge connector(the HSEC connector) you could look at TMDSCNCD28388D it was designed in Altium and has the same connector. Of course the rest of the board shape and components will be slightly different, but the edge card interface would be the same.

    Hi Cody!

    I will work with the reference you suggested in the meantime (thank you!) but it wouldn't be the definite solution, so a 3D model would be best (so I can estimate positioning and can present it correctly.)

    Miguel,

    until a few years ago it was extremely common to work without a 3D model of your PCB. For out newer EVMs we release 3D models, going back and creating them for the backlog of older EVMs would be a huge effort and we have no plan to do so.

    I'm afraid if you want a 3D model you will need to create that yourself.
