Dear all,

I try to debug the adc_ex3_temp_sensor project and I get the following error:

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -151 @ 0x0)
One of the FTDI driver functions used during the connect
returned bad status or an error. The cause may be one or
more of: no XDS100 is plugged in, invalid XDS100 serial number,
blank XDS100 EEPROM, missing FTDI drivers, faulty USB cable.
Use the xds100serial command-line utility in the 'common/uscif'
folder to verify the XDS100 can be located.

Do you know how can I solve this?

Hi,

If you are using Launchpad F280049C, you need to use XDS110 debugger, and also, please make sure you are using JTAG mode as cJTAG 2-pin mode

Hi Santosh,

I am quite new on TI. I just connected my board with USB. Do I need to buy an XDS200 USB Debug Probe? Also, I do not recognize the window of your screenshot.

Hi Stergios,

If you are new to the device, then I will recommend you to go through Online Workshop. It covers the details on setup and debugging.

There is onboard debugger XDS110, you just need to connect using usb cable that came with board. It connects the debugger and also power the device. On CCS menu View -> Target Configuration , create new target configuration, select Texas Instruments XDS110 debugger in dropdown, and then select F280049C device. Go to Advanced tab, and you will see the screen I sent earlier. Save the configuration and then launch the target configuration by right-clicking it.

Then connect the target and load the binary.

Hi Santosh,

I followed your suggestions and when I click on the Test Connection I get the following error:

The JTAG IR and DR scan-paths cannot circulate bits, they may be broken.
An attempt to scan the JTAG scan-path has failed.
The target's JTAG scan-path appears to be broken
with a stuck-at-ones or stuck-at-zero fault.

Is it a possibility that something is broken? Do I need to connect any jumpers?
