TMS320F28377D: 3 Phase PFC with 800VDC Output

Part Number: TMS320F28377D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDM-1000

Customer using TMS320F28377D to control 6 FETS  to implement 3 Phase PFC (diagram below) and running into issues on the Boost output when set to 800VDC

Customer is looking for guidance/suggestion or even reference design/software to move forward

  • We don't have a released reference design that has the exact same topology. But we have a 3 Phase Vienna PFC ref design. Pls see TI website for TIDM-1000. Review the design documents (TIDM-1000) and then you will understand how you can gradually develop the C2000 firmware and test your PFC design step by step.

From the waveform it looks like your current control loop has some issues. To verify and fix this follow the process we used to test TIDM-1000. Apply the same process and you should find a way to fix this.

  • Shamin,

I did try to point the customer to the Vienna 3 Phase PFC but they did not find the information helpful.  I really need better guidance on this or we will lose the design.

    Regards,

    Lawrence

  • Lawrence,

The exact nature of the issue is not clear to me, can you elaborate what is the challenge?

We have TIDA-010039 and we are developing SW for it that will use DQ domain for the PFC.
