Part Number: TMS320F28035

Hi TI,

I have questions about a Bidirectional DC-DC Converter (TIDA-BIDIR-400-12)

what is SR mode for and why are those needed?

  • This stands for synchronous rectification, and it means replacing diode rectifiers on the secondary side with MOSFETs(Q5 and Q6 in the design) that are controlled by the C2000 MCU.  Control of these FETs along with the primary side 4 FETs used in PSFB can improve overall system effeciency by reducing the diode losses.

The TI Design guide http://www.ti.com/lit/tiduai7  discusses this briefly at the start of the document, and then further looked at in section 4 with PWM waveform comparisons.

    Best,

    Matthew
