TMS320F280049C: Program cannot run without emulator connection

Hi Expert,

There's an issue that the program can run with emulator connection, and failed to run without emulator. The project is modified based on F280049 example gpio_ex1_setup.

Customer found that it helpless to decrease the code length, however when reduced global variable to a certain amount(from 1000 to 800), the issue is disappeared, both conditions could work.
The map file shows that there's no Flash/RAM section overflows. The GPIO24 & 32 is pull-up status.

Could you analyze the above phenomena and provide some methods to debug this issue? Thanks!

Did they try to debug if there is any reset occurrence in the failing case?

Do they have watchdog enabled or disabled in codestartbranch.asm? Please try disabling and see if that helps.

Customer solves this issue by disabling watchdog in codestartbranch.asm.

Glad it helped.

In this case, if the watchdog is not disabled before jumping to C init routine, it is expiring while the c init routine is initializing all the variables.

When emulator is connected, watchdog is disabled initially by gel file.
