Customer is using TMS320F28377DPTP, so there is no pinout for ADCINC5. Could you please help check which mode will ADCINC4 run with if enabling the ADCC as differential mode? 16bit or 12bit? Thank you.

Hi,
In F2837xD, differential mode is supported with 16-bit resolution.
Thanks

Dear Vasudha,
Understood. Customers don't know what happen to ADCINC5, since there is no pinout for it for PTP(176pin) package. When we enable the differential mode for ADCC module, ADCINC4 and ADCINC5 should be a positive and negative inputs according to SPRUHX5G. Can ADCINC4 support 16bit without ADCINC5?
Hi,
With ADCINC5 pin not being available on the package, I don't think it is possible to use ADCINC4 in 16-bit differential mode.
Thanks
Vasudha
Vasudha,
Got it. So it will still run with 12 bit mode, even though ADCC module is enabled as differential mode?
Vasudha,
Could you please help further check whether we can use ADCINC4 as 12bit mode when we enable the differential mode for ADCC module? Customer is waiting for our feedback to decide the hardware design this week. Thank you.
Hi,
I think the ADC needs to be configured in 12-bit mode so that ADCINC4 can be used in single ended mode. If the ADCC isconfigured in differential mode, with ADCC5 pin not being brought out and input only applied to ADCINC4, the results would not be correct as the other input ADCIN5 would be in default unconnected state.
Thanks
Vasudha
Vasudha,
Thank you. It seems that ADCINC4 will be wasted if we use ADCC in 16 bit mode. Now it is clear.
