CCS/TMS320F28388D: Global shared memory GS0-GS15

Hello,

As far as my understanding, the two C28 cores has shared memory 128k which are assigned to GS0-GS15. In the cmd file, each length of the GS memory is 0x1000. So total GS memory is about 64k instead of 128k. Am I correct? Please advice.

Hi Andy,

Yes, we have 128KB of GSx RAM (GS0 t0 GS15) shared between CPU1 and CPU2 on this device. 0x1000 length is 8KB address space on C28x CPU so that make it total 128KB. Right? May be I did not understand your question correctly.

Hello Vivek,

The 0x1000 is 4kb space and GS0-GS15 make up 64kb. This is my understanding.

Andy,

C28x has 16bit addressing not byte hence length 0x1000 maps to 8KB address space.
