I’ve read the sch of the TMS320F28035's demo.

but I find out the 28035's GND is isolated from the FT2232D.

and I know that the 28035 and drv8301 have the same GND.

It’s good for PWM’s SI, and to reduce the jitter.

(and so, we can put the 28025 very closed to the motors )

So I think there is a large GND noise on the Drv8301 and 28035's GND ?

If only the 28035's GND have the different voltage with USB(ESD)

We can reduce this by the USB interface.

Is what I understand right ？

Hi Jianyuan,

Are you using the LAUNCHXL-F28027F and BOOSTXL-DRV8301 together? You have F28035 listed, but just wanted to check.

If using the LaunchPad you can remove all three power jumpers, JP1, JP2, and JP3 to fully isolate the XDS100 side from the F2802x side.The BOOSTXL-DRV8301 HW User's Guide only lists removing JP1 (3.3V).

no,i do not use the LAUNCHXL-F28027F.

The schematic I mentioned is "CC2803X_Iso_Dim_V0_15.DSN".

i'll do the design with 28035 and 8301.

and i do not know why there should add an isolated chip (ISO7240).

Hi Jianyuan,

You're using the TMDSCNCD28035ISO then, just to be clear? The ISO7240 is intended to isolate the JTAG/USB connection to the computer from the F2803x side of the board.

Jianyuan,

as Kevin mentioned this isolation is to protect your computer from the system. Several of our kits are high voltage, and have the potential to damage your computer.

We added this isolation to enable customers to run their systems kit while their PC is connected to the C2000 device over JTAG.

Ok ,I get it. Thanks a lot.

In my system, we will use a Freescale’s cpu to supply the UART & Jtag to the 28035 in the same PCB board and with same GND plane.

Is there a large noise in the DRV8301’s GND, if do not have the isolated chip.

will this noise affect the operation of my high-speed precision cpu chips ?

the ground bounce that you will see is hugely dependent on the layout, motor and control code that you use. you will need to characterize you system to see if this will affect your high-speed devices.

Again, the isolation on the controlCARD is not to enable communication and to avoid noise on your PC, it is to protect it from damage.

Unfortunately there is no LaunchPad for the F28035 device. But many BoosterPacks are available for the DRV83xx devices. F28027(cheaper, similar features), and F280049C(more feature rich) both have launchPads that could work with the DRV83xx BoosterPacks.
