LAUNCHXL-F28379D: ADC input >12-bit and SPI 20MHz

Hi all,

I need a DSP Board that has >12 bit resolution of ADC input and SPI with clock 20MHz. I must to verify the performance of external 12-bit DAC, with FSO 5V and output analog signal every 17 clock edge. The reading rate of analog signal is 625kHz. I am thinking of trying to use a LAUNCHXL-F28379D, is this board adapt for this test?

Hi Francesco,

The F28379D device in the launchpad has a 16-bit ADCs (4x), 12-bit DACs (3x), and high speed (50MHz) SPI (3x). It does not however have an FSO, but has dual CPUs that can run up to 200MHz and a DMA controllers that have direct access ADC and DAC data. Not sure what your requirement is for the FSO but DMA and the extra CPU might be an alternative to consider in place of the FSO.

I can use external voltage of 5.0V on pin V_REFHI and GND on V_REFLO of ADC?

Hi Francesco,

Sorry, I missed that part. The ADCs on the F28377D operate at 3.3V VREF.
